The Pirates of Penzance is a piece of music theatre that has endured (like many of Gilbert and Sullivan's works) for over a hundred years. It is performed by professional and non-professional companies and by high schools throughout the world.

Bushfire Press has just completed a three year project to adapt The Pirates of Penzance for younger performers.

We have one of the favourite songs here for you to use freely with your class.

The Pirates of Penzance adapted for younger performers
    Duration: 60 minutes.
12 principals & chorus of pirates, police & daughters, two basic sets.

This is a faithful adaptation of Gilbert & Sullivan, appropriate in vocal range and lyric manageability to younger performers from middle primary to middle high school years.

It comes in a hire kit with master book of lyrics & script (libretto), individual performers' scripts (sufficient for cast) and vocal score (parts will be available mid 2005). Also included is a double CD of vocal performances and instrumental backings for performance. The backings are adapted from Sir Arthur Sullivan's original orchestral score, to give young performers the feel of performing with an orchestra. Orchestral band parts are available on request.

Everything you need to give your students a wonderful theatrical experience with the most enduring music theatre team of all time!
